2021 Wedding Themes We LOVE

With the pandemic forcing people to move their weddings to this year, there are new trends people should expect to see. For the most part, the basics of wedding planning have been the same for years– with bridesmaids all wearing the same color dresses and the reception being quite the party. However, there are some new additions and changes as well.

The Wedding Ceremony

One of the new things people have started to do is no longer making each bridesmaid wear the same style of dress. The color of all the dresses are the same, but now bridesmaids are able to choose which style of dress is the most flattering. The most common styles are off-the-shoulder, strapless, sleeveless, and one-shoulder.

Another new ceremony trick is having your pet deliver the rings. For people who have dogs that are well trained, this is one of the cutest trends people have been partaking in.

The unplugged ceremony trend is also something we love! Here, the couple asks guests to turn off their phones during the wedding ceremony. This is for photography purposes so no photo is ruined with the presence of a cell phone. There is usually a nicely written sign to tell people not to have their phone on/out at the beginning of the isles.

The last ceremony trend that is new that is quite comical is having one of the groom’s friends be the “flower girl”. This trend has taken off and these men have really sold the part.

The Wedding Reception

For the reception, a somewhat new trend is photo walls. This is where the bride and groom set up an accent wall for their friends and family to take pictures in front of. This is similar to what people used to do, but now people have been using greenery and neon signs. This is set up with either a photographer or a polaroid camera. It makes an excellent addition to any wedding, no matter your color themes.

Speaking of color schemes,  common colors people have been choosing for their weddings are a variety of tans, browns, and whites with sage, white, and natural greenery. This became more popular as of 2019 and has still remained a trend.

The last ceremony trend we think everyone can get behind is massive dessert tables. People have gone above and beyond making donut walls, multiple types of cakes, and always unique desserts.
